It would help if you can come up with a case where Explorer crashes every time or at least most of the time so that if you make an adjustment and the failure case is resolved you are on the right track. The failure case of Explorer crashing is usually seen when when copying files to an external USB drive - although your symptom is different it is worth looking into. There is a popular and easily remedied problem with some Asus and Acer systems that come from the factory with some EgisTech products installed. Third party Explorer extensions may have been added with or without your knowledge when you install certain programs. When Explorer is crashing (not Internet Explorer) I always suspect third party Explorer Shell extensions - there is no good reason for just plain Explorer to be crashing.Įxplorer Shell extensions are the extra things that make up the right click menu which you right click something (copy, paste, play this file, scan this file, etc.).
